Wedding Day Success Using a Red Wagon

What are you using your red wedding wagon for on your special day?

Will it stand still in a place of honor, collecting your first gifts as husband and wife?

Will it be in the spotlight for one entire minute as your maid of honor pulls it down the aisle and your flowergirls toss fragrant flower petals from it onto the bridal carpet behind it?

Will your ring bearer and flower girl take their journey up the wedding aisle in your beautiful wedding wagon?

Will your red wagon cradle the wedding favors for your guests or your wedding party?

So many options! All great ideas and all affect how you will want to decorate a red wagon for a wedding.

Of course, each of these options also has its own unique challenges:

  • How do I get the kids to ride in it?
(Practice - several times - ahead of time in full costume and with an audience so they know EXACTLY what to expect on the big day.)

  • How do I keep the decor from tangling in the wagon wheels?
(Decorate the wheels themselves, instead of draping fabric or use a stiff fabric and boning or wires to keep the wagon skirt "poofed" away from the wheels - think petticoats. And test your decor design ahead of time to ensure success.)

  • How do I keep the wagon skirt from shifting?
(Attach it to a liner that fits the inside of the wagon. Place a large bed pillow, covered with a luxurious pillow case inside the wagon to hold the liner in place. Add weights under the pillow, if necessary.)

Give yourself time to test and make adjustments with your wedding wagon and you'll be thrilled with the final product for your special day.
